It’s been a while since I sent out some pixel love, so here it is. This is a picture taken at Operation Breakthrough, which is part of St Vincent’s Family Service Center in Kansas City. Their mission is to help children in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them with a safe, loving educational environment. It really is an awesome place, not just for the children, but also for the volunteers.
More than other volunteer programs, you really feel like you’re making a tangible difference in the lives of these children. It would be a great way to spend an afternoon– Its a shame that most productive, positively oriented people who work during the day don’t have the chance to interact with these kids to set a great example. Some day when I run my own gig, that will all change.
