NetImpact Conference 2006 & Seventh Generation

10Apr06

I just joined NetImpact so I could enter 7th Generation’s essay contest. Well, not so I could enter the essay contest.. It seems like a pretty neat group to be involved in… but I’m a little leery to start with.. I hope its not like the KC Entrepreneur meetup that (during my tenure in KC) has never actually met even once. That just may be a function of the city I’m in (I hope it is).. and will potentially change if I move to a more progressive city in the near future (hint: Chicago/San Francisco).

The essay question that I’m trying to answer:
–> How would you design and implement a marketing campaign for Seventh Generation products in order to appeal to a broader audience (i.e. beyond green consumers)?

The funniest thing about this is that I was talking to my roommate and Vinita earlier about this exact thing several months ago, before I knew about this essay contest. I’d post my ideas here, but I guess I had probably put them down in the essay first since the deadline is in a few days.

For those of you who don’t know what Seventh Generation is, this is a plug for a great company that touts itself (probably rightly so) as the leading brand of non-toxic household products for a healthy family and a safer world. You don’t have to be green to be a fan.

Sounds like this is right up your alley, I say go for it. You should post more on what topic you plan to cover in your essay.

I’m glad you’re starting to accept the cold hard fact that KC is not a good for a person of your ambitions. You know Dallas might be a good option if Chicago/SF don’t work out ;)
