Tomorrow is the kickoff for the University of Chicago GSB’s New Venture Challenge. I’m leaving class early with a team of design students to make it there on time. I’m a little apprehensive of a swarm of MBAs thinking I’m some sort of "decorator" and ask me to "design something cool" to sell (pfft).
Also, I’m a little hesitant to go to these business plan contests, the preparation needed for the contest alone seems like more than its worth– ultimately if you were working on a business, wouldn’t you rather spend time on putting it together and acquiring customers instead of getting ready for some contest?
Maybe my opinion will change tomorrow…
