T minus 7 days to Shanghai.

Shanghai. Flickr credit: 2 dogs

Well, it’s 1:30am and I’m not in bed. Hopped up on caffeine and spent a fair portion of the night looking for my passport, which I had filed away in a very safe place… So mom, before you yell at me.. I didn’t MISPLACE my passport, I just PLACED it in a very safe and secure spot. I just happened to forget where that spot was, that’s all.

I bought my flight ticket today. A whopping $2800… and that’s for economy! I guess that’s what happens when you book just over a week before an international flight.

Tomorrow, passport pictures, run to the consulate, and get visa expedited. Crossing fingers that I won’t get denied.

We have loads of work to do before we get going. I need to get lots of batteries for my SLR, I’m taking it to China, so expect pictures like the one you see here (I ganked this one from Flickr)…. It’s a good thing I’m not terribly claustrophobic, that street crossing looks formidable!

Thanks man! Will definitely send my pictures to Flickr, so check it out often.
I will try to blog, but I am a little nervous of the Chinese government scoping me out and detaining me for posting stuff that I shouldn’t be..

Dude, I cannot wait to see/hear all about this trip. It sounds like a totally amazing experience! But yeah, I’d be a little worried about the Chinese Big Brother also :)
