speaking of tailors, one place I got a ton of stuff made is the Shanghai South Bund Soft-Spinning Material Market. It’s on the south bund (duh)… I took a bus there. It’s pretty cheap, not a whole lot of negotiation… I was reasonably (though not entirely) pleased with the stuff I got and prices were pretty good (I think i paid 80rmb per shirt). I got a bespoke suit made in HK last year and it’s my favorite suit now (I actually hate wearing anything else now)

Wicked, thanks for the bespoke link and the lunch link…my parents and I kicked around the idea of doing a family trip to China (eventually fell through). I was going to have a bunch of suits and shirts made while over there. Ah well, it’s still a plan for the future. And the veggie lunch site is awesome, I’m always stumped trying to figure out new and exciting lunch options.

Thanks for the recommendation Sheel, and the comment, Sarah.
Yeah, there are a plethora of interesting stores here, but I’m trying my hardest not to accumulate badmass that will just fill up my place!

I did, however, shop at Muji, which I should talk about in another entry.
