Christine sent me this article that observes the Starbucks in Forbidden city is now closed to the many visitors of the Palace Museum.
Not really sure how I feel about that, or if I even have the right to have an opinion since I’m not a citizen of the Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó (PRC). Considering there are a plethora of other consumer establishments in the palace, I don’t see why having one Western icon is so horrible. Even if it is a chain.
Wow, apparently my opinion of Starbucks has really changed dramatically in the last couple years. Their CSR shamanism seems to be playing tricks on my psyche.
