Beowulf in 3D

3D glasses for Beowulf

I saw Beowulf last night in 3D with John. It’s just one of a new spate of 3D digital movies that are coming out within the next year. Spielberg is coming out with a 3D movie as well, according to Wired.

I think I’ve pretty much decided that in order for me to pay the exorbitant prices at the box office anymore (I am a grad student, come on now), it has to be a sensorially rich experience (e.g. 3D, olfactory stimulation, the whole bit). C’mon now, “surprise and delight” (that’s for you, Woojin) me if you’re going to charge me $11 (a $2 surcharge to use crappy plastic 3D glasses).

Just to clarify for you non-believers: This 3D is much better than the “Michael Jackson Thriller” or Back to the Future ride of 15-20 years ago in Disneyworld. No seizure inducing shaking, and the 3D adds to the story and experience, its not just an annoying addition.

Check it out if you have the time. I know I won’t have much time the next few weeks during the end of the semester.
