Superbowl commercial redux

05Feb08

My roommate thinks it odd that I would consider watching a national sporting event solely for the commercials. As I do not possess a television nor enjoy watching or following sports much anymore (actually, I’m not quite sure why I ever was), I do enjoy seeing what companies pay gazillion dollars for lots of people to see.

So I save myself from watching the game and instead I google Superbowl Ads today (2 days after the game). I don’t think I’m in some tiny, tiny minority here, but my roommate thinks its crazy. Please feel free to find statistics to prove him wrong.

Without further ado, my favorite superbowl commercials:

By far the best of the best ads go to E-trade.

E-trade 2.

CareerBuilder.com.

Tide.

Fedex.

Cars.com

Audi. I don’t even care about cars but I want an Audi now.

Disney’s Wall-e (although I think this is just because I <3 Pixar.

Coca Cola.

Genesis (Intentionally left the company out, you’ll see why). Although, I did predict this a couple years ago! (i guess that’s hardly prophetic seeing the natural trend in the automotive industry.

The absolute worst ads were the SalesGenie ones, for obvious reasons. I’m not even going to link them here, because that would be giving SalesGenie more free advertising they don’t deserve.
